My name is John Graf and I grew up all over Los Angeles. As a child, I would watch other kids play with toy guns, tricycles and such. I walked around with a camera like a little geek and most of the time without any film inside. I found it so fascinating that this little box could grab a piece of time and I could take that with me. That was much cooler to me than a skateboard.

I have always been interested in anything to do with film. I worked as a lighting tech at Paramount Studios for over twenty years and was on the crew of several movies and television shows, but I have always been more interested in still photography.

During my shoots I like to have a sense of humor in the air to allow the subject's true personality to shine through for moments worth capturing. This atmosphere is seen through my images as the subjects seem very at ease.
